Ranunculus

On May 1st, I started pre sprouting ranunculus corms that I ordered online as well. I knew nothing about them and did know the proper timing of when to plant them. I did plant them in middle of May after the frost the date but I did not see any growth from them for months and thought they’d never bloom. To my surprise they bloomed in July which was the hottest part of the summer, I have no idea why this happened as everything that I had read online told me differently saying that they wold stop blooming and die back when the temps got to 70 but these bloomed when the temps were above 100. I also planted these near the front perennial garden in a box that also had some parsley which were blooming around the same time so they were a nice compliment to them.

Since I am so far behind with my blog posts and updates I will go ahead and post the blooms here that popped up July 1st. I did dig these up in late August and stored them for next year and was a long process as I needed to clean and dry them. The amount of corms multiplied so I now have many more than I originally started with. However it was nearly impossible for me to keep track of what colors were what, so next year when I plant them I will try and label them as the come up, but I am not too concerned as they will more than likely look pretty mixed together.
